Product Manager

About Maxxton
Already familiar with Siblu, Landal, Sandaya or RCN? These organisations all work with Maxxton.
Maxxton is the leading property management system provider and reliable SaaS partner for the broader hospitality and accommodation rental sector. Originally a Dutch company, Maxxton has grown into a multinational organisation of 200+ people working in the Netherlands, India, and France — serving holiday parks, campsites, resorts, serviced apartments, and vacation rentals.
Our cloud-based platform processes 1,500,000+ reservations a year, supported by a fully integrated suite — including Customer Care, Web Manager, and a broad ecosystem of integrations via our open REST API.
We develop leading functionality and act as our customers' strategic partner — in daily dialogue to automate and optimise processes, reduce errors, and save costs. After leading the Dutch market, we are now growing into Europe's market leader. We have big ambitions and ask you to grow with us as our…
About the role
The Product Manager's mission is to help our clients achieve their business goals while staying aligned with Maxxton's product strategy. You maximise the value delivered by your team through clear product direction, continuous discovery, and prioritisation decisions that balance client needs, market opportunities, and product quality.
This is not a backlog-management role. It is a strategic position that requires commercial awareness, client empathy, and the ability to make defensible decisions under uncertainty. We are actively embedding AI into our way of working and expect you to help shape AI-driven features within your modules, identifying where AI can unlock real value for customers and not just following the hype.
What you'll achieve
Serving customers and stakeholders
- Maintain a regular cadence of direct client contact to understand business needs and market trends.
- Conduct user interviews and research; translate findings into product decisions rather than passing on unfiltered requests.
- Manage client expectations around timelines, scope, and product direction with transparency.
- Share quarterly roadmap updates with stakeholders to maintain visibility and alignment.
- Say 'no' clearly and constructively when needed, with well-reasoned trade-offs.
Serving the development team
- Own a prioritised, well-contextualised backlog with clear outcomes and acceptance criteria for each significant item.
- Create clarity on what to build and what not to build — and the reasoning behind each call.
- Participate in design iterations with UX to ensure designs reflect product goals and business context.
- Partner with the Scrum Master and development team to unblock delivery; you focus on the 'what and why', not on ceremony facilitation.
Serving the product organisation
- Own domain-level OKRs and report progress transparently, including when outcomes are off track.
- Collaborate with product analysts to monitor product success metrics and KPIs.
- Keep the Lead PM informed on progress, risks, and cross-domain dependencies — proactively, not reactively.
- Flag misalignments between client-facing commitments and internal capacity before they become delivery problems.
What we're looking for
- Strategic thinking — you translate company goals and client needs into a coherent direction for your domain.
- Discovery and customer insight — you identify real problems through interviews, usage data, and client conversations, not assumed ones.
- Outcome orientation — you track whether shipped features achieve their intended effect and adjust course accordingly.
- Stakeholder management — you set realistic expectations, communicate trade-offs, and hold firm on scope when appropriate.
- Decision-making — you make defensible calls under uncertainty, balancing short-term client pressure against long-term product health.
- Communication — you explain product direction and reasoning clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Commercial awareness — you connect product decisions to client outcomes and Maxxton's business goals.
- Domain affinity — affinity with revenue management, dynamic pricing, or yield optimisation concepts, whether from a product, commercial, or hospitality operations background.
Previous experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a software company is essential. Experience in the hospitality or SaaS sector is a plus.
How you'll spend your time
- 40% — discovery, prioritisation, and customer interaction
- 25% — delivery collaboration (scope clarification, unblocking, design partnership)
- 20% — stakeholder management and communication
- 15% — strategy and upward alignment
